Can i create 2 workbook and link together ?

i have a excel file, many person need to use it, currently only 1 person can edit the file and other person just view it in read only, always need to queue up to use the file, waste time...
can excel create 2 file and both is link together? Both file can be edit at the same time and both will be update to each other.

Sometime forget currently is viewing the read only file, after update many data just surprise to see file can not save. can i change setting to prevent editing "read only" file? or any idea can remind us we are currently starting to edit the "read only" file?

Exel is not really designed for working with multiple users
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

Excel is essentially a single user system and the first person to open the file is the only one who can edit and change the original. Others can only open the file in read only mode and if they want to save changes have to save with a different name.

There is an exception however. There is some functionality called 'Workbook Sharing'. Check out the Tools..Share Workbook menu.

You still have to be able to resolve conflicts which means either the workbook owner has to decide which changes 'win' or you can set the parameter that the last change made wins.
