    opposite of concatenate

    Dear Community,

Good afternoon - hope all are well.

Was in John Lewis this weekend and really disappointed ....... Christmas trees up already!

    Its just not right!!!

But thats the least of my worries.......

Attached is a sample spreadsheet. In col A I have a whole list of numbers followed by a dash and a qualification. As seen below:

    COL A
    Row 1 0028 - First Certificate
    Row 2 0029 - First Diploma
    Row 3 0029 - First Diploma

I would somehow like to de-concatenate the 4 digits from the qualification type, ie

    Col A = 4 digit num
    Col B = Qualification type.

    Thanks for looking,
    Darren

    Re: opposite of concatenate

You can run Text to Columns -> Delimited -> specify hyphen in Other

Set Col A to Text if you want to maintain 0028 as a string else apply a Number Format of 0000

    Thanks very much Blast.
I will search and investigate that formula or function.
    Have a good day.
