What happenes to linked cells if I make it read-only? Help!

looking for a way to email a workbook in excel2007 or 2010 that has linked cells. When it gets opened by people I email it to, the numbers are screwed up. I need to "lock" all of the values before I email the file so the values won't change when someone opens it in another location.

You need to Copy & pastespecial values before emailing
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

Although I am the IT person and not really an excel expert. The users were unsure about this.

Do we need to copy/paste special values on each cell that is linked?

How, in a nutshell, is this done?

    Thanks!!

just select the whole sheet then copy paste special into cell a1 in a new worksheet in a new work book
if you have several work sheets
you can also right click first sheet select all sheets
select all on first sheet copy paste special values into cell a1 of sheet1 a new work book with the same number of sheets
every thing will be done at once

I see. So when this is done with "copy/ paste special," the values in the cells will remain the same in the new sheet, but those links to other sheets will be gone, correct?

That would be the desired outcome, if correct.

    Thanks....
