Issue with pasting from Excel to PowerPoint

I am having a problem when I paste an Enhanced Metafile Picture from Excel into PowerPoint. The text looks and is normal in the xls file but when pasted into ppt the format mentioned, certain letters run together making the text look like something is wrong with it. It's proving to be a bigger problem than it seems because it is affecting my ability to effectively put presentations together.

I have tried every other form of pasting which, in some cases, fixes the text problem but then reformats the excel formatting to some degree which is equally as annoying.

Is there any remedy to this? Or is there something that I am missing?

When you do your copy in Excel, hold down the shift key and click on the copy icon. Then when you are ready to paste into Power Point, select Paste special. Select your type of image you want. I would play around with each option until you get what you desire.

I've already exhausted all of those options and the problem still persists.

The problem is particularly bad with the letters 'x' and 'v'; it runs them into the letter immediately following it and it looks terrible.

Have you tried re-sizing the image in the powerpoint. Sometimes depending on the image type, this will help. I have experienced this before and plain old experiementing was the only solution for me. Have you tried changing the font type in the excel file?

One last suggestion. Do you have Snagit or Jing? If not, you may want to download Jing. It is free and maybe the solution for you. Google Jing and find the free download. I find it works really nice in cases where nothing else works.
