Converting time to hours and minutes

I have created a form that will track comp time which is calculated at time and a half. I'd like for the user to be able to put their time in using hours and minutes....for example 2:45 = two hours and 45 minutes. I'd like to be able to multiply this time 1.5 to figure their earned comp time and have it display back in the hours and minutes format....for example 4:08. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!!!

    Do you mean?

    =A2*1.5 (formatted as time)

where A2 has the initial time... I get 4:07
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    start *1.5
    7:25:00 11:07:30
    6:00:00 9:00:00
    5:10:0 7:45:00

format as [h]:mm:ss or leave off the seconds if it's not an actual time stamp entry

Re: Converting time to hours and minutes

I can't use the time format because it will not allow me to go over 24 hours or it starts over at 0. I will attach the sheet. Notice how in cell I10, it starts over after exceeding 24 hours.

Thanks so much for your help!

That is the tricky part...it is not a time stamp. It is total hours worked, but we want the employees to be able to enter and view their time without having to covert the decimal values to figure out how much time they have available. Does that make sense?

By formatting the total cell to [h]:mm it will allow times over 24 hours to be displayed

the standard time format is h:mm, which stops at 23:59:59 hence the 0 being displayed!
