    Find and Replace problem

I have a bunch of formulas that I need to copy and then change the cell column they're referencing.

However, if I select the formulas and FIND and REPLACE (let's say) D with E...it will change other characters including Sheet names and other functions such as AND, which of course is less than useful.

Is there a way I can get it to just change the cell reference?

    I'm using Excel 2010.

    Thanks for any help.

Post an example of your exel file without confidentional information, and with the same format.

You will see you get better help.

If you select the columns that you want to change and then do find/replace that should narrow things a lot.

Could you provide an example of what you're trying to copy?

    Re: Find and Replace problem

Ok, sure....here's a sample of what I'm working on...

    Sample.xlsx

Sheet one is where the data is entered (score). On Sheet 2, I've got a table which gives me the results I need for Score 1, but what I need is to copy that table for Score 2, Score 3 etc. vertically down the page, with maybe a rows gap between each table.

NBVC from here gave me a load of help with the forumlas which are now working great but I can't see a way round this with adding $'s in front of every letter within the formula and just FIND and REPLACING $D for $E etc. which would be quite time consuming.

    Re: Find and Replace problem

I think you should be able to do it with just a few find/replaces.
Like I said first select the range of cells you want to apply it to then:

Find "!C" and replace with "!D"
Find ":C" and replace with ":D"
Find "$C" and replace with "$D"

Looking through your formula Those should be all you need and they shouldn't have adverse effects.
I don't see any way to do it quicker than that...
