    identify duplicates in Excel

    how do you identify duplicates in a spreadsheet? I don't want to remove them.

    You can highlight them with conditional formatting

    Conditional formula: =COUNTIF(A:A,A1)>1

    You can identify with a TRUE/FALSE flag in a column adjacent.

    formula: =COUNTIF(A:A,A1)>1

    or you could use advanced filter, depends on your layout, also in excel 2007 there is an option to do that as well

    I have a similar macro, give this a shot:

    Please Login or Register  to view this content.

    This looks up column A, and highlights duplicates in grey. So if you have value in cell A23 and A54 that are the same, both will be highlighted.
