    counting completed cells across rows

I have a report to do.
    Sample attached.
Involves counting and coding according to the 'compleness' of cells in a row.
Each cell can have different types of entry from txt to ranges of numbers etc
There is a code table to describe each level of completeness from "all 6 cells completed" down to "1 cell completed".
Cell 2 and 2a are either or to to count as a yes to the test "is 2 completed".
Then a count of "how many of each compleness code" at the bottom
The real sheet will be 1500 rows deep and 40+ wide FYI.
    Phew!
    All contributions gratefully received.

    Hi,

    ...but what's your question?

As a minimum tell us what results you expect to see and in which cells and we may have a chance of assisting.

Just a tip, but where you have a table of data that varies in length, put totals and summaries above the data.

Re: counting completed cells across rows

Sorry if I'm being a bit opaque - attached is a 2nd sample.

In the yellow column I need a code from the table on the right - that must match the criteria of 'populated-ness' of each row.

The 6 cells 1-6 are in yellow and relate to the table.

I have entered some by hand in the yell col to give some idea how it needs to be.

Then a summary of counts for each of the codes.

Sorry it's been a long day! Any clearer?

I don't understand your logic, what does this mean?
2 is counted either as 2 or 2a filled
    What makes the cell "filled"?

    Why is column E hidden?

Why are numbers stored as text?

Using a lookup list N4:N10 (Your list in reverse order), and converting text to numbers.
This gives a result, but not it's what you have stated

Couldn't the zeros and No Response texts be blanks? It'd ease the formula a lot. Though I would add accessory cells to ease this if it was my project.
An example file is never useless!

Tried an example function of mine and got errors?
    - Had you found them, replace ; with , and , with .

Well this gives the desired result with the accessory cols. Numbers being stored as a text indeed brought some extra work. Of course you could move those accessory cols into far right if they do disturb you. With my simple mind this could've not be done without extra columns
