Extracting individual years from a range of years in Excel 2007

Hello all,

I am working on producing a spreadsheet that will require me to have a way to list individual years in adjacent cells (listed vertically in the same column, but different rows) on one sheet when entered as a range of years in a single cell on another sheet. For instance:

Sheet 1
Single cell contents: 1990-1993

Sheet 2
Multiple cell contents:
1990
1991
1992
1993

I am new to using excel and any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

One way:

With your Year range in cell D5 of Sheet1

In Cell D7 of Sheet2 place this formula:

Drag this second formula down as far as necessary

Is it possible to keep the entries on sheet 2 from the first range of years and enter my next year range in sheet 1 cell D5, and the second range continues in the next available blank cell in the same column on sheet 2?

My objective is to make a standardized form on sheet 1, that can be cleared and have the next group of data entered into it without disturbing the previous data that was created on sheet 2.
