Rodeo Score Sheet- Ranking, sorting and tallying data

    All,
Sorry for the long description of my problem, but want to be as understandable as possible.

I need some assistance on a Rodeo scoring sheet.

    I have 5 events that I'm scoring.
    Sorting
    Branding
    Milking
    Loading
    Mugging

    I have 3 sections:
    Data Entry
    Event Standing
    Final Results
    -------------------------------
    On the "Data Entry" section:
The actual time will be entered for each team in this section.

    These events:
Branding, Milking, Loading and Mugging will all be ranked on the "Time" column with lowest time getting a better ranking.

    This event:
    Sorting, is a little different.
This event will be ranked first on the "Cows" column descending and then on the "Time" column ascending.

    -------------------------------
    In the "Event Standings" section:
For the events (Branding, Milking, Loading and Mugging)
I would like to have the top 10 teams in each event show up in order of their ranking from 1st place to 10th place
1st place team will get 10 points
2nd place team will get 9 points
and so on down to 10th place team getting 1 point.

    For the events (Sorting)
I would like the same ranking information as the other events, but I would also like to have their "Cows" and "Time" information transfer as well.

    ---------------------------------
    On the "Final Results" section:
I would like to have the teams and their total points entered in order from 1st to 10th.

    I have included my spreadsheet.
I think I've done the ranking calculations correctly in all but the "Sorting" event. Since this is based on 2 criteria, "Cows" and "Time", I'm not sure how to rank it.

You're help is most greatly appreciated.
    Mike

Re: Rodeo Score Sheet- Ranking, sorting and tallying data

I've managed to resolve most of my posting issues via macros.

On my sorting, I used the following for each respective event.
I'll use "Branding" as an example
In the "Rank" column, I used the following formula:
    =IF(ISNA(RANK(L9,L$9:L$28,1)),"",RANK(L9,L$9:L$28,1))

I just used a macro to sort by "Time" and post to the Standings table.
    ---------------
So I'm still having problems on a a couple of things.

In the "Sorting" event, I want to rank on 2 criteria.
First is "Cows" and next is "Time"
The more cows you get the better.
If there is a tie, the best time will determine the winner.

Also, I need to be able to add up the points for each of the top 10 places in each category and find an overall winner.

If possible, I'd also like to get rid of the annoying #REF! message I get when I don't have fields completed in the "Standings" of each event. I left the "Branding" event alone so you can see what I mean.

    Thanks for your help,
    Mike
