Calculated Item in Pivot table

Hi I'm trying to insert a calculated row in a pivot table. I keep getting the error message 'Pivot table items can only refer to items in the same field as the calculated item'

Please help. Below is the format of my data.

do you put anything in the values box in the pivotTable field ?

whenever i create a pivotTable i use the information from a table, the pivotTable will have four areas to drop things from the column headers

you can then use something to count against

In values I have the four periods 2011, 2012, 2013
