    Exclamation Mouseover Chart Data Display

    Hi all,

    I have a small problem.
    When I hover over a data point on a line in a chart (mac 2008), i have a pop-up that says something like;

    "Series 'X' Point 'Y' Value '#'"

    where # is a numeric value.

    Instead, I need it to say a sentence of text. So if a select and mouseover a data point, it would say 'This here represents..."

    Even if it said "Series 'X' Point 'Y' Value 'TEXT_HERE'", it would be fine.

    Any ways to do this? I tried putting the numeric value and the comment i wanted displayed in the same cell, but then obviously it doesn't create the chart.

    Thank you for your generous help

    The coordinate narrative is hard coded into excel. I believe there is a kernel work around but is is very involved. You might consider programmatic placement of labels next to each point.

    Thanks a lot,

    I don't really do any coding but i have time to do any grunt work - do you think there's an alternative that could work? Any workaround would be fine

    I actually can do this in Flash, but I really want and need to add the interactive-look in excel (interactive = mouseover data for explanation thing).

    Anyways, thanks for the help!

    You would need to hook into the chart events and display the required information via a textbox/shape.

    Does Mac 2008 have VBA?

    This addin is a pc version
