formula needed to place a stage #

I have a range of numbers in cells B5 thru C11. In column A5:A11 I have the stage #.

I need a formula to place the stage # in cell A13 bgased on the value of B13

    example is attached.

In my example 2,505.00 would fall in the range of 2,500 - 10,000 which is stage 3

    Try:

    =LOOKUP(B13,B5:B11,A5:A11)

if the Stage #'s are truly 1-7, consecutive, then also this: =MATCH(B13,B5:B11) would work... and you wouldn't need to list the stage numbers
