One-line graph, multiple data sets

Hello,

I am hoping some of you can help me out. I am trying to put together a line graph of nothing more than X and Y values, but I need the line to have 4 different segments.

For example, 10/1/10 through 10/9/10 is a red line
10/10/10 through 10/19/10 is a blue dashed line
10/20/10 through 10/29/10 is a green dotted line

and so on.

I have not been able to figure out how to edit individual line segments to look different. Also, each date range should have a label underneath to identify the period of time.

I have tried building multiple series, but I end up with a stacked line graph instead of a continuous single-line chart.

I am using Office Mac 2011, but I also have Office 2007 available on PC if I need to do it there.

Yes it is. The y value is a simple integer too. 1,2,3,4....
