    how to I get my total to decrease when filtering

    Hi Guys.
    This is my first post, so dont laugh

    I have a probelm I want to know how to I get my total to decrease when filtering.
    im using excel 2007 and when I filter a job sheet the filter "total price" still shows all prices listed.

    Any help would be great

    Not sur what you mean, SUBTOTAL can be used to sum only visible cells.

    Try attaching an example workbook

    You need to use the subtotal function
    enter
    =subtotal(
    then hit the fx to find out how to use it
