    Auto-number section-based table of contents

    Hello, everybody,

I have a workbook with approximately 20 worksheets or so with all of the data formatted for printing. About 5 of these are locked worksheets that are intended to function as section headers in the printed material. For simplicity, let's say that the actual section title text appears in cell A1 of each of these worksheets.

I'm trying to get an automatic table of contents going that will, instead of printing page numbers, will just auto-number sections and will only count these section header worksheets. Sometimes sections need to be deleted, and the table of contents would need to be auto-updated to reflect.

I'm sure you might be very confused by this, so I've made a graphic that, hopefully, makes it clearer what I'm seeking.

Is this sort of thing possible?

Thank you very much for any help.
