Multple IF conditions matching data in a table

    Hi,

I'm trying to implement the following logic in an excel forumla:

In worksheet 1 the forumla is written in row 2 column A. I would like to match the value on row 2 column B to a table array in worksheet 2 from row 2 column A to row 20 column E.

If there is a match then the next condition is to find a match from worksheet 1 row 2 column C to worksheet 2 column D on the same row as the first match in the table array.

If both conditions above are true then the value that is returned is from column E in worksheet 2 on the same row as the 2 other matches.

If both conditions are not true then the value returned is 'NO MATCH'.

Please can someone help me with this formula?

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Tony

Click GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to post up a desensitized copy of your workbook.

Make sure your sample isn't dumbed down, make sure there are a couple of manually mocked up examples of what you're trying to accomplish....examples of a good match and a bad match so we can see what your end result should look like in both instances.

    Hi,

Thanks very much for the response. Sorry it has taken me a while to prepare the file as per your request.

I have attached the file and the first tab has the instructions. I hope it is adequate to understand what I am trying to achieve. There is no sensitive data in the file. I am using office 2007.

    Your help is really appreciated.

    Kind regards.

Since the dataset is so long, it's best to make things easier my adding a "key" column in your working orders database and put the values together into a unique key value that's quick to match. Rather than fiddle with you're existing column E, I put a match formula over in column M for now to show you how. You can tweak from here?

If that takes care of your need, please click EDIT in your original post, click GO ADVANCED and set the PREFIX box to SOLVED.

I was trying to find the solved prefix box however it doesn't appear on my screen. I just took another look in _Go Advanced_ and still couldnt find the prefix box. That is why I wrote [SOLVED]. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That's fine, but the addition of [SOLVED] should go on the original post #1. Cheers...
