    How to do a Formula within a Formula :S

    iv up loaded a worksheet with my example.

    the problem is i have had to type the whole thing out and i need it so that it does it automatically does it no matter how many more rows are added

    if you have any questions please ask iv been trying all different combinations all day, still no luck.

    Convert the list to a Table, by going to Insert|Table,

    Then copy the formula in C down to the bottom of the table.

    Now when you add new items in column A and B, then C will autopopulate with formula.

    hi thanks for helping but it doesn't work because the whole formula goes down with it.

    i have already got a large table to add the formula to with different dates etc. and i need one the will change automatically no matter how many team there are

    I am not exactly sure what you mean.

    There is no way, except maybe VBA to automatically insert a formula every 5th or 6th row.

    You can perhaps put a formula in every row that looks to see if, for example, the team in column A is Team "A", if so, it will do the calcs based on consistent table for each group...

    So, in C2:

    copied down all the way.

    Then create the Table to add a row at a time... As soon as a Team A appears the calc restarts from that point.
