    Turn off autosave in excel

    Hello everyone,

I have a big excel file that runs normally when the user is interacting within it. Menus, selections, and pivot tables are fairly fast. However sometimes excel does the autosaving thing and this slows my application a lot. it takes 2 minutes to get back to normal. How can I fix this? Can I possibly rmove that option? Thank you

    Tools >> Options

    Go to the "Save" tab

uncheck "auto save". You may want to set AutoRecover to every 30-45 minutes to be safe though, but I understand how much of a pain it is when huge workbooks autosave...

Thank you so much...That was simple. I just could not see it even though I went to tools >option.

Same question I asked about a year ago, I couldn't see it either.

Re: Turn off autosave in excel

I know this thread has been long here enough, but to get to "Options" in Excel 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button and find "Excel Options" beside "Exit Excel" at the bottom.
