Examples please.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Hello V
Please attach a dummy sheet, to do this go to "GO ADVANCED" (bottom of this page); "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" (bottom of page) and follow the instructions, P.S. can be the real thing as long as it doesn't have personal info on it.
Regards
Peter
The attached cheats somewhat in that I used a "key" row, which I would normally hide, for the criteria. THe key can combine even more criteria if you need, and can take any number of forms.
Thanks for the quick reply guys. i have tried "bentleybob's" example but it doent change the sat or sun to an "x". . i have attached a file.
cheers!

Can you now re-expain your requirements referring to your sample workbook. It does not follow your original post references.
hi NBVC
what i need is to create a new sheet called summary.
this sheet should list all calender weeks and a sum of absenses for all weeks listed
I need to sum all values in row 1, provided row 2 has the same week number and row 3 is not a saturday or sunday(week days in row 3 are actual dates which have custom formatting "ddd" applied to each cell.)
thanks in advance
Why didn't you say so in the first place? : )
Try this. I counted actual absences, not Row 1, but you can convert if you want.
Exactly what I needed. Thanks bentleybob!
