    Var difference on Pivot table

Rather than the total of Sold and Capacity at the bottom of this pivot table, I want to work out the absolute difference in Sold and Capacity numbers between the 2 report dates.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards

Re: Var difference on Pivot table

Add a Calculated Field with formula:

    =ABS(Sold -Capacity )
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Dont think that will show the % variance between the 2 reporting dates though...

Re: Var difference on Pivot table

I have attached the pivot table showing the current results. This shows at the bottom the sum of capacity and sold.

In example underneath the pivot (Table 1) i am showing what i actually want to achieve which is the Variance between the 2 different report dates.

Note that this pivot table will be used only to compare year on year sales thus comparing always just 2 dates.

Re: Var difference on Pivot table

You are probably going to need to do what exactly you have done.. use formulas outside the pivot table to do the calcs....

I can't immediately see how to accomplish your request otherwise...
