The data from column A is imported from a database. A1 contains CONV001 I need to auto fill A2 with CONV002 and A3 with CONV003 or said another way the contents of A1 in A2 is A1+1 and the Contents of A3 is A2+1.
Excel 2003.

If you just select A1 and drag the little black square at bottom right corner of the cell down, it should auto-increment the value in A1...
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Sorry, I didn't specify that I need a formula to achieve this.
How about then?
=LEFT(A1,4)&TEXT(RIGHT(A1,3)+1,"000")
