using numbers from websites into excel (web Quering)

    hi

I dont know if im doing this right. this is my first post. but I have a complication

I want to be able to take select values from a webqueried table and implement it into an excel document. Is there a clean way to have only certain values from the table to be transferred to the excel? I do the data-> import external data -> new web query to get the table but i dont know how to make it selective and then remember to only import that certain data. please help thanks

Hi kaiouji and welcome to the forum,

Web Queries import the full table displayed on the web page. You will need to import the whole table and then trim it down once in excel.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

You are correct. The web query will come in from a table on the web page.
After it gets into your excel sheet then you need to copy and paste it (as values only, normally) to a second or cumulative sheet. There are certainly many ways to do it but a secondary sheet is my suggestion.

If the web import always looks the same then moving on to a Macro or VBA is the next step to grow your data and analyse it.
