Excel Not Calculating Formula Correctly

This has got to be the most frustrating thing ever. I'm trying to do a simple problem that requires a number to be added over and over.

Cell A1 = 5

(where I type in) B3 = A1 (5)
B4 = B3 + A1 (10)
B5 = B4 + A1 (15)
(where I drag it down) B6 = 15
B7 = 15
and when I check the automatically generated equation, it shows that B6=B5+A3 and that B7 = B7 + A5

Does anyone know what the issue is?

If you mean that at each step A1 should be added start in B4 as =B3+$A$1 and pull down as needed
