    Find & Replace Question

i have a spreadsheet with thousands of rows. I'd like to use find & replace to search a column for cells that contain numbers only. Within the column I need to search there are also formulas. I don't want to "find" the formulas, only the numbers.

The reason I'm looking to do this is I'd like to replace the cells with numbers only with 0. Find & replace is the only way I know of to do this. If there's a better way please let me know.

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Find & Replace Question

    Try perhaps this:

Type a 0 in any cell and copy it, then go to Edit|Go To and click Special.

Then select Constants.. uncheck text, logicals, errors in the formulas section.. do not check Formulas.

    Then click Ok, then Edit|Paste
Where there is a will there are many ways.

what is that! I've never seen this before....it worked although I have no idea how! The only issue is it only worked for the area I see on my monitor...how do you get it to work throughout the entire column? And once more, what is this!

Thank you for replying so quickly.

    Re: Find & Replace Question

sorry, I meant to say that it only works for the rows that are visible...you see most of the rows are "grouped". Do i have to ungroup everything for this to work?

    Re: Find & Replace Question

Probably better if you ungroup everything first.
