    Quotient errors

I'm hoping that there is just something that I am over looking. I am using exel 2010, student trial and when I am trying to do simple quotients I am getting all kinds of wild answers.

I am simply using =QUOTIENT(D25,C25). The main quotient i was looking for was 140 and 50 and it is giving me a result of 2.

I tried putting random numbers in to see the results and some answers are right and some are out there.

I have the cells for the source numbers to 2 decimal places and my quotient to 4 decimals.

It seems that ther is some kind of rounding problem, where would I look for that?

    17/6=2
    18/6=3
    19/6=3 etc.

    Welcome to the forum.

See Help for what QUOTIENT function does.

    Maybe you want just =D25/C25
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
