Angry Separate data from a list

    Hi, all.
    I have a simple question.

    I have:
    ---------------------------------------
    1 Nick L x x x Single
    2 John B x x x Married
    .
    .
    40 Rob C x x x Single
    ----------------------------------------

I want to create a separate TAB ..

    but

I want the "singles" to be on top (automatically with vlookups)

    AND
the Married on a different table..

    In practice ..

it should say something like find "singles" and included it in my top table ..for "married" include it in my bottom table!..

But to make a list again wouldn t it be like find the first single...add to the list..find the next and add to the next raw.......

    Can this be done??

the data are obviously not the actual but the idea is the same (think of products and unique names!)

    Hi,

It's not quite clear - at least to me - exactly what you want. Can you upload and example workbook with a before and after position, along with any explanatory notes as to how you get to the results so that we can see the request in context.

OK.. Attached is the problem to be solved... obviously the 'product' is more clear as well. The Problem to be solved is in Fleet Tab where I need to get the data with vlookups from the inputs tab but separate them...
(by data i mean : could be date/text/number/..)

    any comments?

Why not just use Pivot Table(s) with Type as a Report Filter and remaining fields set up accordingly (with No. as Row Field so as to generate unique listings)

Doing the same with formulae seems a little like reinventing the wheel to me.

I agree with you.. it seems primitive to use formulas to do these calculations.. but I tried and i noticed that i can not use the text...it always comes with count and sum... am i missing sth?

No you're right that the Data Fields can only display numeric content - you could however set all fields as Row Fields, no ?
