    #DIV/0! in Pivot Table

    Howdy, first post here.

I'm using Pivot Table to summarize numeric results, formatted as numbers, to show average, count and standard deviation. These are arranged in columns by a sample size.

I'm getting normal results for average in the sample size columns and #DIV/0! in the Total column, even though the count and standard deviation show the correct values in both columns. When I use Excel's average function in the toolbar at the bottom there is no error. The number of numbers averaged is several dozen. There are no blanks in the data.

If I change the table option for showing errors to ??, it shows ??, so the table thinks it is finding an error.

Any ideas why the table is finding an error?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

    Re: #DIV/0! in Pivot Table

Appreciate the desire to see the info but it is 1398 data points with a lot of labels I need to treat as confidential.
The pivot table has 42 row categories and 6 columns with grand totals sub-divided to 1-9 columns on the pivot table.
If I copy the data and delete all but one row category, the DIV/0 still shows.
Then if I select one parent column label it goes away and when I add back in the others, it is still gone.
Excel has a bug I was hoping someone had conquered. MS Excel does not even talk about DIV/0 on pivot tables.
