IF formula for copying value/format of a cell

    Hi,

Dont know if this is a simple task, or whether its even possible.

I currently have an IF formula in cell E20, which has a cell reference in it. =IF(E22="",E23)

The formula works fine, and it shows the values that are in E23. Some of the values are in a different colour and bold and underlined. But in cell E20 it just shows the values in one format.

Is there a way to show the exact value/format of the cell reference E23??

    Many thanks as always!!!

Formulas can only bring back values. If the cells being referenced could have any sort of formatting at all and you wish to reflect that in another cell for some reason, a whole layer of VBA would have to be employed in your workbook.
