    Sum of HH:MM

    Hi all

I'm wondering if anyone can help
I'm doing a timesheet design and I'm trying to autosum the hours of the week worked
    I'm tried the formulas
    =SUM(K18:K24) and also
    =SUM(K18:K24)*24
however its returning a completely wrong value

    thanks

    Hello,

what values are stored in K18 to K24? If these are real time values, like 8:30 or 17:15, then you can use the first sum formula.

If the result of the calculation is more than 24 hrs, then the result looks wrong unless you format the result cell with custom format

    [hh]:mm

note the brackets around [hh] -- these will make sure that values greater than 24 hrs will be shown as hours.

    cheers

    I have used the formula
    =J18-I18-H18
with a cell format of hh:mm to sum each days hours worked

Have you read my post? Pay attention to the custom format and the [] brackets.

    =J18-I18-H18

is not a formula for summing.
