Display the value of a cell, and then KEEP its value when I clear the other cell

Ok so lets say in B1 I have =if(A1="No",Test,"")

So if I type "No" into A1, then in B1 the cell turns blank.

However, I still want to be able to see what originally was in that cell.. (i still want to see Test somehow...) so I was thinking of in the column C, just putting =B1. Obviously that doesn't work because once I type in No in, then not only does B1 go blank, but C1 goes blank as well..

Is there anyway for me to still see what was in it originally? I know I can just copy paste values and then it will stay, but I want to be dynamic, I want everything to update automatically.

    Hi Tommy,

I'm at a loss trying to understand what you desire. Does copy and paste using "Values Only" do what you want?

If you have a formula in a cell it will always calculate the answer for that formula, in that cell.

How about a workbook with a sample?
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
