    Question List help

    Hi,

I have a long list, about 1700 rows, with repeated names but different ID's for each customer and I want to get this list shorter and be able to see only one time each person name but all their different ID's
Removing duplicates does not help me because I may not need the name repeated 3 or 4 times, but I need that name to be associated with those ID's.
    Here is my list:

    Customer Name ID #
    JOHN DOE 12345
    JOHN DOE 12345A
    JOHN DOE 12345A123
    JANE DOE 999888
    JANE DOE 777A666
    MARY JOE 123ABC
    MARY DOE 89789

Below that's the table I would like to see

    Customer Name ID #
    JOHN DOE 12345
    12B789
    12345A123
    JANE DOE 999888
    777A666
    MARY JOE 123ABC
    89789

How can it be done without removing duplicate names and using filters?
    Thanks.

    Hi,

I guess Pivot Table would be a better option for this, see the attached file.

That's a great idea, I hope I can make it as you did considering I never used pivot table.

    Thanks a lot.

    Re: List help

    You are welcome

Yes, Pivot Table is really an incredible tool. The most obvious benefit of using pivot tables is reporting flexibility - you can view your data grouped any way you like all with a simple drag, drop, point and click interface.
