    Making League table with excel 2007

    Hello.

    Im trying to build a league table based on match results so im asking for some help to get me started.

    The idea is that the league table would update itself after i type the latest results on other sheet.

    For example on other sheet i would type:

    AC Milan 3 - 2 AS Rome

    I would need the function that would see which team has higher score or equal and add points to the serie table based on these results.

    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

    If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

    Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

    Ok. Thanks. I made this simple example to show what im aiming for.

    sheet 1. (Original table before typing any results in sheet 2.)

    a b c d e f g h i
    1 # Team MP W D L F A P
    2 1 Arsenal 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
    3 2 Manchester United 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

    sheet 2 ( Then i would type following result on sheet 2.)

    a b c d e
    1 # Home Team HTG ATG Away Team
    2 1 Manchester United 3 2 Arsenal

    updated sheet 1 ( after typing a match result to sheet 2.)

    a b c d e f g h i
    1 # Team MP W D L F A P
    2 1 Manchester United 1 1 0 0 3 2 3
    3 2 Arsenal 1 0 0 1 2 3 0

    So the idea was that after typing the result to sheet 2, sheet 1 would update as this lousy example shows for updated sheet 1.
    Obviously im planning to do this with a full league table with more teams.

    MP= Matches played
    W= Wins
    D= Draws
    L= Lost
    F= Goals for
    A= Goals against
    P= Points
