    Dependent List from One Column

Hi, i am looking for a bit of help in regards to dependent lists. I have attached a sample workbook of the dependent lists i have created. The dropdown sheet shows the 2 dropdown lists that are sourced from the Qs Sheet C3:E8.

What i would like to find out is if it is possible to have dependent lists but using the format shown within H3:I18?

The reason being is the project that I am working on has 50 Main Queues and in total 700 Queues so it would be time consuming to change this into the format shown within C3:E8. If somebody could please help, would really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

if your list in columns H and I is sorted alphabetically by column H, then you can use

as the formula for the dependent list range name.

teylyn, thanks for your response. im guessing that if its not sorted alphabetically then the results it will show will not be correct.

The problem is that every week their could be additions of queues and the file will need to be used by other people hence the source data needs to stay the same with the exception of new queues at the bottom. Is this something that can still be done without sorting alphabetically?

    Thanks once again btw.

What are your real Queue Names (e.g. is Queue No27 "Queue AA"), and what is typical of the data in each queue?

Marcol, within the Main Queue you would have duplicates i.e Main Queue A has 5 unique Queues. Hope that makes sense.
