Time spanning midnight ---- as minutes, not hh:mm

I'm working on a production model - how much time someone took to perform some tasks. I've done my due-diligence - searching for time that spans midnight, but it isn't helping for my application.

    spreadsheet attached.

I've got some folks that work day shift - (end time minus start time, * 1440) works great.

BUT - night shift = start time of 23:13, end time of 00:54 - I can't get there.

    Help?

Okay, I think I've got it - (several hours after the initial frustration, it dawns on me that I don't need to subtract the late night number from "24:00" but only from the minute equivalent, 1440.)

the "<" refers to the 8-hour shift (480 min)

for those playing, this formula sits at H9 and gets copied down the column (or up).
