IF Statement Issue - returns another number

    Hello,

I have quite a long IF statement, which is as follows

    =IF(ISERROR(vlookup(xxx)),"",vlookup(xxx))

"xxx" returns the value 14 (as it should), but the number '11' appears in the cell.

I have evaluated the formula but don't understand the final step. Please see the attached picture for a demonstration of this. I thought the IF statement would be the final step, but then it returns one last number and I have no idea why!

    Thanks,

    jonnya

    Hi,

Please note the forum recommendations about uploading an Excel file, or at least the relevant part of it rather than a picture. We should then be able to help when we see your problem in context.

As an aside and nothing to do with your problem, but since you have Excel 2007 you can shorten your formula by using =ISERROR(VLOOKUP(),"")
