I have a chart with 8 data series. Because it is hard to distinguish colors with that many data series, I would like to position the name of the series next to the line instead of in a legend next to the plot area.
How do I do this?

One way is to use dummy series for displaying data labels.

But depending on your data you may have trouble reading the data labels if all the points have a similar value.
So it could be you need to rethink the chart you are using to display your data.
