Hyperlinks in Excel Viewer not working (2003)

I have an excel document that is setup on a shared network so that the user can open it and use it as an index to direct them to pdf files that they require.

These hyperlinks work fine on my local computer via Excel but they don't open on the other computers using Excel Viewer. I believe they also work fine on other peoples computers using Excel.

The text in each cell with a hyperlink contains "Click Here" instead of the full path as this was required for the user. Each cell directs the user to the location of a specific pdf file.

Does this sound like a file restriction issue or is it related to the hyperlink text?

So it appears that you cannot use hyperlinks with Excel Viewer. Do you know if there is an alternative workaround for this?

If only things were that simple...

The IT department has decided to use Excel viewer to limit the user permissions so I think that I'm stuck for now until they can provide an alternative solution.
