    Returning from different workbooks

    Hi,

I'm having a problem where I can't remember how to resolve an issue. What I am looking to do is to return figures in a column from a different workbook.

I was going to post two images but it won't let me and the file sizes are two big.

So in Workbook 1 (W1) I have 2 columns, one with a list of names, lets say the phonetic alphabet for ease, and column 2 has a list of numbers.

    NAME NUMBER
    Alpha 0.1
    Bravo 0.2
    Charlie 0.3
    Delta 0.4

Workbook 2 has the same, however in the name column, the phonetic alphabet words may appear more than twice, ie.

NAME [U]NUMBER[U] What it should be
    Alpha ? 0.1
    Alpha ? 0.1
    Bravo ? 0.2
    Bravo
    Bravo
    Bravo

In W1 there is just one instance of each word in alphabetical order.

Therefore what i wish to do is return the number from W1 which is associated with the word in the word column > to the number column in W2.

    Hope that makes sense.

Ok so that didn't work out, but the "?" goes in the number column and the numbers return in "What it should be" column in W2
