How to highlight different words at the same time.

I have two columns like this:

    2RA 8BE
    8BE 9NS
    9NS
    5JU

I want to higlight the ones to the left that corrensponds with the words to the right, so that the document will look something like this:

    2RA 8BE
    8BE 9NS
    9NS
    5JU

The document has thousands of words like this. What would be the easiest way to do this?

    Many Thanks.

Re: How to highlight different words at the same time.

    Conditional Formatting

Use condition: Formula =COUNTIF($B:$B,$A2)>0 and choose a font or background colour.

Edit: that assumes that your data starts in row 2, allowing for a header row. Copy and Paste Special formats to the rest of column A.

Re: How to highlight different words at the same time.

    Thanks!
But I can't seem to get it working. I just get a 0 when i write the function. I am quite the noob when it comes to excel.
Could you please explain a little more? Here are my two colums:

    FT**-13-0066 FT**-13-0141
    FT**-13-0091 FT**-13-0158
    FT**-13-0116 FT**-13-0166
    FT**-13-0133 FT**-13-0191
    FT**-13-0141 FT**-13-0216
    FT**-13-0158 FT**-13-0241
    FT**-13-0166 FT**-13-0266
    FT**-13-0191 FT**-13-0283
    FT**-13-0216 FT**-13-0291
    FT**-13-0241
    FT**-13-0266
    FT**-13-0283
    FT**-13-0291
    FT**-13-0316
    FT**-13-0333

    let's assume this is column A & B, and row 1 - 15. Where do I write the function?

If I get this working it will save me A LOT of time.
