Excel won't load CSV file like I want it to.

I have a database of addresses that I import as a csv file through machforms. Excel keeps leaving the zeroes off the beginning of zip codes. I thought this was a simple template fix so I opened a new workbook, selected all the cells and then formatted them as text and saved it as my default template but that didn't fix the problem. Cells are formatted correctly when I create a new workbook after the template change but when I open the csv file the database generates it still leaves the zeroes off of the beginning of zip codes. I thought the problem was with the csv file the database was creating but I opened the file up in notepad and was able to confirm that the zeroes are in there up to the point it's opened in Excel 2008 (windows 7). Is there some setting I can manipulate that will change the way Excel formats csv files? It sure is a chore adding the zeroes? Thanks!

You can change the extension to txt and then use the text import wizard, specifying those fields as text.
