Sorting by recognizing values in a list

Hi. I work as a salesmanager and would like to make my life a little easier.

From my sales system i can get a transaction list with the names of my salesmen and what they sold.

I would like excel to pick out a specific salesmen/s and his numbers from this list according to category or sold product. and also actual revenue for all products

The list would look something like this.

Seller id..........Product.......amount..........rev..........Category

John................ITEM1..............1............1990...........324
John................ITEM5..............1............5495...........323
Eric.................ITEM5..............1............2495...........336

The result im after is a list of statistics of my main salesmens in another sheet.

For example How many products from category 324 John sold. or what products he sold.

The list i get from my system is very long and can sometimes contain other salesmen. Therefore, Excel has to recognize my salesmens seller id's. because i cant do a normal sorting.
