A Dj friend of mine at a radio station asked me several months ago to create a excel file of the uk chart history, i have now done this.
But i now need some help...if anyone can i will appreciate it
I Have 5 columns A,B,C,D,E
Column A Is Chart Position
Column B Is Artist
Column C Is Track Title
Column D Is Record Label
Column E Is Record Lable Cat Number
I Typed each and every chart in week by week so now i have many entries which are the same but different chart positions
for example
Column Set out like this etc
A-B-C-D-E
41 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
34 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
30 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
26 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
25 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
32 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
52 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
Now i need to find the the highest chart position of all of the songs etc and delete the rest
so from above
25 Abba Head Over Heels Epic EPC A 2037
because 25 is the highest chart position(closer to number 1).
However because sometimes a song can be re-released at a later date and usually with a different Record Label Cat Number (Column E) i only need to delete those dupes that are the same cat number leaving any different cat numbers etc.
Thanks
