Save a file as a text file

I want to save an excel file as a tab delimite text file. But I found that the last column is always a tab. I don't want it. How can I do it?

This is not the behavior I see when I save tab-delimited files. Do you have actual blank data in the last column? Or is it completely unused? Can you post an example .xlsx file that causes this?

For ex,

1 2 3 4

in excel becomes

1\t2\t3\t4\t

in the text file.

I understand exactly what you mean. But when I do the same thing I do not get the final tab. I need to see your source file to see why it does this. I suspect there is blank data in column E.
