Choosing Cell Data that is x Columns Prior

    SOLVED (See replies)

I am something of an Excel novice and have been presented with what seems to be to be an expert level challenge. I have been given a spreadsheet to use in forecasting recurring sales amounts which requires me to be able to take recurring cycle data and fetch the data from dates prior, based on the recurring cycle model.

What I am having difficulty with is how to choose data from a cell that is x number of columns prior to that cell where x is defined in a given cell.

    For instance

x is determined to be 14 in cell A1
cells A2-AF2 hold current sales data for the current month
cells A3-AF3 are where I will want to show expected recurring sales

What needs to happen in this case is that if I have 50 in cell A2 (50 sales for 1st of month) I need logic in row 3 that checks for sales in row 2, 14 columns prior such that O3 would display 50. Essentially, O3 should include the value column O-14, row 2.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Found the OFFSET() function which seems to work perfectly for what I need.
