Converting a large amount of numbers to be stored as text

I need to convert a column of 700+ cells of numbers to be stored as text.

Only feasible way I've seen so far is to highlight the column, format as text, and double-click each cell. Is there a faster way to achieve this? perhaps a VB script that loops until it reaches the bottom of the list?

Any insight you can provide would be great, thanks!

Another thing you can try is format an empty column as text, copy your column of numbers, then Paste Special, Values into the newly formatted blank column.

Why, after formatting as text, do you need to double click on each cell? I get text with just the formatting part.

I'm not clear on what final result you need. Why do you need text? If you need a text file, you can save as txt without any change to formatting.
