Random -by-Percentage

Hi,

I have 5 Primary process with a handful of subtasks for each. I have also have a Column B that has specified percentages.

In columns F & G (from file), I would like to create a formula that can randomize the task hours, based on the given percentage.

For example, F15 thru G19 represent hours. What's a good formula to randomize these numbers. Perhaps, a macro would also assist.

I attached a Excel 2007 file for reference.

Hi Folks,

I found a Random formula & figured out on how to use it....

Now, the problem is, it's too random.....

Even if I'm editing areas where the random formula isn't, the cells in which the random formula is updating or randomizing, when I don't want them to.

Is there any way to still have the random function, the "lock it", unless I want to randomize the cells again?

Is a macro required or something?

Please advise...

Oh,

Forgot to put the formula in...I'm using....

=RAND()*$E$7*100

Where, $E$7 is point to a percentage & in this example, 12%
