Opena zip file _rels etc

Hi, I downloaded a zip file from www.nature.com. I used 7-zip to extract it. It contains three folders "_rels", "docProps" and "xl". Also there is a xml file "[Content_Types].xml".
What is that? How can I open it correctly?

Are you sure the files was a zip file?
Looks more like it was a xlsx file as the folder you describe are the folders within a excel file.

If the file actually has a .zip extension just rename it to .xlsx and try opening the file in excel.
