Conditional Formatting on a Yes/No list across multiple rows

    Hello all,

I have created a list for reviewing QA tasks at my job and I have a column for Passed/Failed. This column is tied to data validation list creating a drop down for Passed/Failed in each cell of the column. I would like to have the color change to either green or red for passed or failed when selected in each row, but I can't seem to figure it out. I currently am using the following formula while creating the 2 pass and fail new rules in Conditional Formatting to make it work in 1 cell, but I am trying not to have to redo this one formula about 300 times.

    =IF($L$2:$L$2="Failed",$L$2:$L$2="Failed")
    =IF($L$2:$L$2="Passed",$L$2:$L$2="Passed")

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

After you select all your rows.. just apply formula like:

    =$L2="Failed" and choose Red

    then apply another rule as

    =$L2="Passed" and choose Green

The formatting should get applied to all the rows you selected... assuming row 2 was topmost.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Highlight the range you want formatted

For CF use Highlight Cells Rule - then Equal to

Type in Passed and select your format

    Do same for Failed
