    Date type Conversion

    hi ,

    I have a problem in converting the date format from Mon-YY to YYYYMM. Please help me on what syntax i should use for this conversion.

    E.g. Nov-05 to 200511

    If these are true Excel date values and not text strings, then this is a simple formatting issue.

    Highlight all the datevalue cells
    Press Ctrl-1 to open the Format cells window
    Apply a Custom number format of: YYYYMM

    Your syntax is fine. Are you using Custom (number) formatting? See the attached.
